Preserved Garlic in Honey

One of the simplest and most powerful remedies in the Amish natural medicine tradition — could genuinely change how your family handles cold and flu season.

Ingredients

  • 1 head of garlic (8 to 12 cloves), peeled and lightly crushed
  • Raw, unfiltered honey, enough to cover

Method

  1. Place garlic cloves in a small mason jar and pour honey over until completely covered.
  2. Stir gently, cap loosely, and let sit at room temperature.
  3. Flip or stir every day or two for the first week — you’ll notice tiny bubbles as it ferments.
  4. After about a month, the garlic mellows and the honey thins and takes on a garlicky flavor.

Take a clove or a spoonful of the infused honey at the first sign of a cold or sore throat. Keeps for months on the shelf.
