One of the simplest and most powerful remedies in the Amish natural medicine tradition — could genuinely change how your family handles cold and flu season.
Ingredients
- 1 head of garlic (8 to 12 cloves), peeled and lightly crushed
- Raw, unfiltered honey, enough to cover
Method
- Place garlic cloves in a small mason jar and pour honey over until completely covered.
- Stir gently, cap loosely, and let sit at room temperature.
- Flip or stir every day or two for the first week — you’ll notice tiny bubbles as it ferments.
- After about a month, the garlic mellows and the honey thins and takes on a garlicky flavor.
Take a clove or a spoonful of the infused honey at the first sign of a cold or sore throat. Keeps for months on the shelf.
